Finances

The orchestra is entirely self financing. The weekly subscriptions are collected on an honour basis. The monies pay for an honorarium to the conductor, the hire of our rehearsal facilities and concert venues, refreshments at rehearsals, the purchase of sheet music, and publicity. Orchestra funds are audited every year and the accounts are presented at the Annual General Meeting.

Current subscription rate is £3 per rehearsal for adults (£2 for a parent if accompanying a child), £1 for children and young people under 18 in full time education.

Insurance

The orchestra is insured against personal accidents at rehearsal and concerts. The insurance of musical instruments, however, is the individual’s responsibility; it is suggested that you at least include your instrument on your household insurance policy.
