Welcome

Sturminster Newton Orchestra Workshop is a group of teenagers, children and adults who meet on Saturday mornings to play a variety of music: folk songs and dances, light classics, music from the shows, extracts from opera and the romantic classics, and film music.

Our aims are to enjoy ourselves making music, to practice instrument technique, and to improve sight-reading and musicianship.

It doesn’t matter what age you are or what stage or grade you have achieved.  There is a place for everyone and no auditions.

The workshop takes place every Saturday morning between 9.30am and 11.45am.  Our permanent rehearsal home and practice venue is the Stour View Centre but occasionally we use the Sturminster Newton High School (Please see the diary). Click Here for a Directions.
